He turned 9 on Monday so we had a little puppy party for him. It wasn't quite the same without Buster there to share in the frosty paws, but a good time was had.
For his birthday we decided to start taking him on a daily walk. We took him out for a walk to accomplish 2 things: Hoping it will shorten his nails a little, and hopefully wear him out. We play with him a lot, throwing around his ball, playing tug of war, but he always feels the need to want to play catch at 3am.
I sadly need sleep to function at work, and 3am doesn't fly for me.
So, Chase started his walking fun with us. He enjoyed it.
And when I say he enjoyed it...he wanted us to come back and pick him up. He was willing to wait on someones lawn. I knew it would mean that he would be tired and give us the greatest gift evar.
So then after his walk, and his nap, he was ready to party with all of us. He was really looking forward his Frosty Paws ice cream. He enjoys it. With sprinkles.
And he really loves his sprinkles.
Nom nom nomI made some treats for the humans. Mini rainbow cupcakes with butter-cream frosting. And sprinkles. Because EVERYONE loves sprinkles.
And there were presents. Can't have a party without presents! Grandma and Grandpa got him the Duck Chews and the weird branch looking treat holder. We got him the frisbee, T-Bonez and stuff for his Kong.

He really liked the branch.
He chewed on it a lot. We had to take it away so he wouldn't keep eating the rubbery plastic. Then he finally got so tired he would sleep on anything or anyone. And we got to actually sleep. So his walk was the start of something great. And hey, it's good for us too.Another part of birthday Monday was our washer broke. I started one load, and it filled up, spun, rinsed but then didn't really do any of that again. No matter what we did, it didn't work. So we had to go to Sears and get a new washer.
It arrived yesterday. And Chase was intrigued. Pardon the poor photo, all I had on me at the time was my iPod and the lighting is poor in the basement by the washer.
He didn't really want to go near it. The lights freaked him out a bit. He is a weird dog. But that is why we love him.
So day 3 of his walking fun has been keeping him tired and us happy. And he is enjoying his new birthday presents. It's a win win.
